Two weeks ago it was time for one of Paris' most popular fashion shows: Acne Studios Spring Summer 2016. Tenue de Nîmes was fortunate to have two tickets for this hectic event, held at Rue Chateaubriand in an astonishing old Parisian building.
Acne’s entire design process is directed by founder and Creative Director, Jonny Johansson. The brand offers men and women prêt-à-porter, footwear, accessories and contemporary denim. Typical of Jonny Johansson’s design is craftsmanship and attention to detail combined with an emphasis on tailoring and the use of an eclectic mix of materials and custom developed fabrics. Mr. Johansson said about his upcoming collection: "I wanted to look at the intelligence of naivety and the toughness of free expression, especially DIY patchworking and geometry. There’s a feeling of wallpaper and decorative fabric, inspired by the art of Albert Gleizes, with the spray painted pop of Mario Schifano.”
In our upcoming Journal de Nîmes we will have the pleasure to show you a back-stage report of the Spring Summer 2016 fashion show by French photographer Ricardo Gomes. On top of that we will tell you all there is to know about both the women's as well as the men's collection by Acne Studios. Stay close! Special thanks to BOF for the images.
