Tenue de Nîmes Guest Editor for Sportswear International's 40th An. Issue
Tenue de Nîmes was asked to contribute to the 40th Anniversary Issue of Sportswear International
recently. This special celebration issue is a tribute to 40 years of denim and fashion trends. The magazine asked one influencer for each decade to describe the denim and fashion business during those years. I am truly delighted to be selected amongst a few of my personal denim heroes to describe how Tenue de Nîmes looks at the developments in the early 2000s.
For the first decade, the 1970s, the Sportswear International team asked Elio Fiorucci (the inventor of the fashion jean) to contribute. The magazine decided the 1980s would be best described by another one of our Tenue de Nîmes heroes: Mister Adriano Goldschmied, the Godfather of Denim. Then for the 1990s Sportswear was able to get Renzo Rosso on board to speak about his adventures building a no-limit, multi-national fashion company towards the turn of the century.
I am sure you can imagine how proud I was to be featured amongst these influencers to discuss our Tenue de Nîmes dream during the 2000s! If you wish to read our contribution make sure you get your hands on a copy of Sportswear International #266 or read the article online here (page 150-151)
. I am very curious to hear what you think!
