Levi's Vintage Clothing

Levi’s Vintage Clothing brings the history of Levi’s back to life in the most faithful way. The line basically emerged out of the craze over the authentic vintage Levi’s jeans on the islands of Japan. When cone Mills, Levi’s supplier of fabric, changed their old style 28” shuttle looms for wide looms in 1983, in order to produce more at cheaper costs, the Japanese saw the loss in quality and started their hunt for original vintage pairs. Levi’s reacted to this demand in the late 80s by releasing replicas of vintage Levi’s to the Japanese market. That’s where it all started for the Lvc line. Soon the States would follow and the iconic capital ‘E’ was back into the game. Yet, these replicas were released in very

small quantities and only sold at a few selected stores. It wasn’t until 1996 that Levi’s would officially release these replicas under the name of “Levi’s vintage clothing”. In the meanwhile they gathered an amazing collection for their archives in San francisco, consisting of original pieces dating all the way back to the 19th century. Up until this day Lvc reincarnates the rich history of the Levi’s jeans and clothing by reviving the styles from their Levi’s archives in the most authentic way. The traditional methods to spin the yarn, to weave the fabrics and to indigo dye the denim are used with care. The pieces are all designed according to the original designs and have the same vintage appearance and feel they once had.
