Lee
Lee Jeans was founded in 1889 in Kansas as ‘the HD Lee Merc. company’. founder Henry David Lee was dissatisfied with the quality of workwear that was on offer at the time. as one of the “big Three” denim brands, Lee became most famous for their denim bib overall which became an instant hit with farmers, railway workers and mechanics after its introduction in the 1920s. The brand’s garments are therefore often monickered as the jeans that built america. Lee always sought for innovation in the design and manufacture of their garments, of which the zip-fly
in the late 1920s was the most notable. besides its close bond with the working class, the company went on to be associated with casual style from the 50s, when their connection with Hollywood translated in a huge success. None other than the young James Dean and Marlon brando were seen wearing their 101 Rider denims on the screen. The amazing heritage of the brand has recently been recognized by Lee and they decided to pay homage to this rich history and offer these authentic styles and garments to the public again. You simply “can’t bust ‘Em”.
