The 'Be Inspired' section of our Tenue de Nîmes website is a way to get to know the members of our team and the many lovely people we met over the past four years. It not only shows the favourite products of our L'Equipe de Nîmes from the store, but it most of all gives you a peek behind the curtains into their passions and sources of inspiration. I am co-founder at both Tenue de Nîmes and Red Wing shoe store Amsterdam. Although trained as a marketeer, I decided to listen to my heart and combine my two passions of several years: retail and denim. In 2008, my childhood friend Rene and I opened our first denim store on the Elandsgracht.
When as kid I would come running to my mom crying, she would often say: "Don't worry, it will be over before you are a boy!". This casually phrased sentence would frighten me way more than my injury because I love being a girl. But, she does have a point. I guess I do possess a certain duality.
I cannot be characterized by just one label or adjective. I am a Mother, Wife, Friend and a Family person. Fond memories make me smile, such as the times spent on our favorite little beach in Ibiza with my husband and the little ones, as well as Friday evenings, gathered around our kitchen table with friends...
I'm the store manager of Red Wing Shoe Store Amsterdam and besides in-store work I spend my time on online tasks for both the Red Wing Shoe Store and Tenue de Nîmes. My interest in clothes and lovely stuff has been taught to me by my parents since I was a little boy.
My motto in life would have to be: be happy with who you are and aim to inspire others with your passion. I graduated in Fashion and Branding from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute in 2010. At some point during my third year in college, I happened to walk into an impressive store on the Elandsgracht in Amsterdam.
I am co-founder at both Tenue de Nîmes and Red Wing shoe store Amsterdam. Before I started my 'blue journey' I worked at Dutch denim pioneer G-Star for 6 years. At G-Star my love for jeans became more and more intense. As a sales manager I experienced the intense growth of Holland’s most successful fashion company.
