JOURNAL DE NÎMES Nº12 - THE NEW VINTAGE ISSUE – Tenue de Nîmes

Today, Tenue de Nîmes announces the launch of the latest issue of their in-house publication, Journal de Nîmes. The 12th edition, themed NEW VINTAGE, focuses on the idea of vintage reimagined for the modern day.

New Vintage, curated to focus on the nostalgia of the past with a contemporary feel, highlights different aspects of the creative world. From Ralph Lauren and his homage and deep-rooted love for the American West, showcased in Double RL to orSlow designer Ichiro Nakatsu’s passion for denim, to an interview with the incredibly talented yet reclusive Alberto Aspesi.

This edition also highlights new and familiar faces to the Tenue de Nîmes family. We introduce the Alexander Wang Denim line; bring back our ‘10 Questions’ section with our friends Libertine Libertine and celebrate the milestone 100-year anniversary of the ‘Golden Handshake’ between Levi Strauss & Co. and Cone Denim Mills – a great example of looking to the past to build a stronger future.

We venture behind the scenes at Acne Studios’ Spring Summer 2016 show and get a special tour of the American Headquarters of Levi’s Vintage Clothing in San Francisco as well as their Eureka Innovation Lab. We sit down with Geert Bruloot, who worked with the infamous ‘Antwerp Six’ and gain a new perspective of modern cuisine with a U.S. coast-to-coast review by food writer, Joy Yoon.

The New Vintage issue is about influences in fashion, art, design and food, that drive us in our everyday lives. And whether we know it or not, the past plays a bigger role in the future than we ever imagined.

The Journal de Nîmes ’New Vintage Issue' is exclusively sold at Tenue de Nîmes locations in Amsterdam for €10.
